Cleaning a shopping centre is not the same as cleaning an office, home or medical facility. There are a number of different factors you will need to think about. This is why it’s important that the contractor you choose has the experience needed.
An experienced shopping centre cleaner will understand the issues involved in cleaning a large retail space, including:
- Food courts and other areas where people eat. These need to be cleaned to a high standard of hygiene, and during busy times they need to be cleaned quickly and often to ensure there are enough clean areas to eat and food spills don’t cause a slipping hazard.
- Cleaning public toilets and bathrooms. These also need to be cleaned regularly during the day in a shopping centre. An experienced cleaning company will understand the need to clean toilets regularly and maintain them to a high standard. They will also be able to do this with the minimum of disruption to shoppers during the day.
- Parents’ rooms. Many shopping centres these days feature parents’ rooms where parents can go to feed and change their babies and young children. Like toilets, these rooms need to be cleaned frequently, but they often aren’t, or they are not cleaned to an acceptable standard. An unhygienic parents’ room can reflect poorly on your premises as a whole so it’s important that attention is paid to this area.
- Dealing with customers. Unlike most other commercial cleaning jobs, cleaning a shopping centre usually means being in regular contact with shoppers. It’s important that staff are polite and well presented and they are trained in occupational health and safety practices so they don’t pose a hazard to shoppers and staff.
At Enhance Services we are fully equipped and our staff are trained in all areas of shopping centre cleaning.
